Time Requirement: 3 weeks / approximately 30 clock hours
Audience: This course is intended for every Colorado Educator who is interested in locating and integrating Verizon Thinkfinity resources into their instructional activities.
Pre-requisites: none

Cost: $50 registration fee (receive certificate for 30 CDE hrs) - 2 hours graduate credit available from Adams State College ($110)

Course Description: Thinkfinity Online for Colorado Teachers is a three-week, asynchronous, Internet-based course. It will present an overview of Verizon's website,Thinkfinity.org, and provide instruction on locating Verizon Thinkfinity’s online educational resources and integrating them effectively into instructional activities to support student learning. Educators will learn how to create an Integration Plan and develop strategies for using technology in their own instructional settings.

Educators will be encouraged to collaborate with other professionals to discuss various strategies for implementing Verizon Thinkfinity resources into their classrooms/schools/districts. After completion of this online course, educators will have developed their own original Integration Plan and be empowered to use Verizon Thinkfinity resources in their classroom to enhance student learning.

Audience: This course is intended for every Colorado Educator who is interested in training others in their district to locate and integrate Thinkfinity resources. Specific audiences may include technology integration specialists, staff developers, teacher leaders, and pre-service faculty and students...potentially any one who is interested in training opportunities in Colorado.

Course Description: Thinkfinity Online for Colorado Master Trainers is a three-week asynchronous, Internet-based course. It will present an overview of the Verizon Thinkfinity Integration Framework and provide instruction on locating Thinkfinity's online educational resources to support training opportunities. Participants will discover techniques for training teachers in their district to create an Integration Plan and develop strategies for using technology in their own instructional settings.

Participants will learn how to customize training sessions for users. They will also receive access to free training resources through Verizon Thinkfinity's Trainer Toolbox, as well as Verizon Thinkfinity's database management system to track and review training data.
Participants will be encouraged to collaborate with other professionals to discuss various training strategies and to create customized training plans for implementing Thinkfinity resources within their own district. After completion of this online course, participants will have developed their own Customized Verizon Thinkfinity Training Plan, and will be qualified to deliver Thinkfinity Trainer Sessions for users in their district.

Intel Teach Project-Based Approaches - Online Course (Course starts July 1) - Register now..

Time Requirement: 6 weeks / approximately 30 clock hours - This "blended-learning" course will include at least 6 hours of face-to-face and/or on-line web conferencing components and an on-line facilitated course that will include interactive tutorials, exercises, individual work, and facilitated discussions.
Audience: This course is intended for all PreK-12 classroom teachers interested in improving their understanding and application of project-based approaches in the 21st century classroom.

Course Description: Using specific classroom scenarios, teachers explore characteristics and benefits of Project-Based Learning (PBL). Throughout the course, teachers consider their own teaching practice as they follow a teacher new to project-based learning who discusses strategies with a mentor teacher. Planning and project design modules guide teachers through organizing the curriculum, the classroom, and students for successful 21st century projects. The assessment module demonstrates strategies for assessing students’ 21st century skills throughout an open-ended project. The course offers opportunities to apply the PBL concepts with action planning exercises.

Time Requirement: 6 weeks / approximately 30 clock hours. This "blended-learning" course will include at least 6 hours of face-to-face and/or on-line web conferencing components and an on-line facilitated course that will include interactive tutorials, exercises, individual work, and facilitated discussions.

Audience: This course is intended for all PreK-12 classroom teachers interested in improving their ability to assess 21st century skills in their classroom.

Course Description: Assessment in 21st Century Classrooms is an interactive e-learning experience that offers an in-depth look at assessment that meets the needs of 21st century teaching and learning. In this course, teachers see how assessment strategies can benefit their teaching practices and their students’ learning. They learn how to plan, develop, and manage student-centered assessment. They follow three teachers who are implementing embedded and ongoing assessment methods in their classrooms. The course offers opportunities to apply the assessment concepts with action planning exercises

In this course, teachers see how collaboration helps students develop 21st century thinking skills, deepen content understanding, and prepare them for the global world. Teachers learn how to plan and manage collaboration activities that integrate online collaborative tools increasingly part of our globally connected workplaces. They follow two teachers as they implement collaborative experiences in their classrooms. The course offers opportunities to apply the collaboration concepts with action planning exercises.

Intel Teach Teaching Thinking with Technology - Register now..

Time Requirement: 4 days - August 1-4
Audience: This face-to-face course is intended for all PreK-12 classroom teacher interested in building on effective technology integration skills and exploring how to engage students in higher-order thinking and 21st century learning using a set of free online thinking tools.

Pre-requisites: This course is a train-the-trainer course and participants will have the option to conduct future trainings.

Cost: $50 registration fee (lunch and materials included) ($40 if registration is prior to June 11) – 2 hours graduate credit available with 1 additional optional credit for Master Teacher certification for purchase based on satisfactory completion of course.

Course Description: Through Teaching Thinking with Technology, teachers learn instructional strategies for addressing and assessing thinking skills, using technology to support deeper understanding of core content. The goal is for teachers to leave the course with a standards-based unit plan, support materials, and implementation strategies to improve and assess students’ higher-order thinking with the use of free online tools. Additionally participants also receive comprehensive instruction, facilitation support, and curriculum review by a certified Senior Trainer with the option to be certified as master teacher to deliver components of the course to other teachers.
